There are some things you just can’t tell your friends and family right now. In fact, the closer your friends and family are, the more they tend to feel entitled about letting you know what’s in your best interest. And with that, the more they end up judging you even without intending to. Yes, your family and friends do love you. But sometimes you just do not want them to know right now, and do not want their predictable advice.

 

‘Don’t count your chickens until they’re hatched’. You may relate to this if you’ve been hurt in the past by people who haven’t kept your secret. How many times have you been excited about a business idea or a personal milestone and are dying to tell all, but afraid it will spill to the wrong people? Ironically, the phrase “your secret is safe with me” stands better with a stranger than with someone you know.

 

A stranger who does not know you personally has no idea about your life story, thus comes with no preconceived notions about you. There is a better energetic connection when there is no history or baggage between you and your Listener. Speaking to a Listener who does not expect anything in return is a liberating experience. No judgement literally means that your Listener has NO RIGHT to judge who you are as a person, and will not tell you what to think, believe, or do.
